Plan 2025, American death squads, and you
What if you don’t give a shit about civics?
Well, I think you should give at least two shits, America. Why? — you may ask.
Because the fecal coliform known as Trump intends to destroy what’s left of your political power. And although your political power is already sharply curtailed, you have a lot more than a resident of the dictatorships that Trump models his revenge plan on — Hungary, China, and North Korea.
Let me tell you about Plan 2025.
Trump supporters in the GOP were concerned after the fiasco of his last Administration, not because his quack cures and racist demagoguery divided and killed Americans, but because the man is so stupid that he was unable to effectively push forward even his favorite ideas, like building a border wall. This time, the billionaires have organized a gigantic takeover team. They aren’t going to wait on Trump to direct what they want done — they are going to be ready to move.
The Heritage Foundation, working with other lackeys of the rich, have created Plan 2025, which is already recruiting thousands of Christofascists to take over the reins of government. They did this by sending out job applications in which the would-be bureaucrats are sorted for fascist tendencies and Evangelical Christian affiliation.
They did this before, as you may recall, in their disastrous attempt to lead the postwar regime in Iraq. They recruited hundreds of people without background checks, who spoke no Arabic (much less Turkish, Kurdish, or Aramaic), who were plopped into Baghdad’s Al-Rashid Hotel with no idea what they were to do, aside from promoting a sort of Friedmanian economics. And they couldn’t even do that; their tenure was known for starvation and torture.
But you can be sure they know how to speak English and immiserate Americans. They won’t take their turn at power in the USA so lightly.
Most Americans, getting their news from TikTok and song lyrics, have no idea what the Trumpers plan for them, and think the worst that could happen is a sort of repeat of Trump’s bungling and infighting, minus the COVID. And they may also buy into the idea, not without cause, that the Democrats have little to offer besides hysterical denunciations. I have no love for the DNC, but fear and loathing are understandable emotions for the idea of Trump returning, under Plan 2025.
Quoting Jessica Corbett’s article in Commondreams, the Plan contains “…efforts to gut the civil service, reverse progress on racial equality, eviscerate LGBTQ+ rights, restrict reproductive freedom, impose hardline immigration rules, roll back climate action, end “woke” military policies, overhaul public education, and curb human rights.”
It’s an attempt to turn the entire nation into Mississippi. Or Hungary.
For a start, the very fact that you’re harkening to me will mark you, not as an American exerting your freedom of speech and of the press, but as a subversive, in agreement with what Christofascists view as unacceptable persons and views. Your support of racial and ideological diversity, equity, and inclusion will be sorted into the Woke Enemy file. Your tolerance, or worse, endorsement of human rights for GLBTQIA people will be marked as collaboration with perversion and pedophilic grooming. Your criticism of the alt-right will be following you, as enemy data, into the newly Christofascist-seeded bureaucracies. In short, your freedom and liberty will be stolen. And the people stealing it will gleefully celebrate your misery.
Political violence against you won’t be conducted under the auspices of the State, at least, not at first. Instead, you will be fair game for the Right Wing’s thug and militias; if they aggress against you, with harrassment or direct violence, the police (who are already full-on Trump supporters) will mysteriously turn their heads, forget, or drag their feet. They are doing this right now versus BIPOC and GLBTQIA, but also against leftists, who can be murdered in the streets without any progress in investigation. Calling the police as a member of one of these groups is calling into the desert; they don’t want to help you, and certainly aren’t going to direct any resources to help you. This will become ten times worse under the new GOP.
Computer profiling, assessment, and compilation is already up to the task of rating your status under the Christofascist Administration, and artificial intelligence will easily predict your next move. Plan 2025 bureaucrats will have no compunction about targeting you for full-bore harassment. You won’t have to wait for the militia to target you; you can be sure your experience of life in the USA will begin to degrade immediately.
Maybe you already know people who have died in your town, while the police stood by and did nothing. In my town I can think of two right away — a young man who was known for confronting the police’s beloved Proud Boys was run down in the streets, and the police sat on evidence for two years, until public investigation forced them to move. And an unarmed woman was gunned down by a rabid Trump supporter, who the police then lionized as an aggrieved and tormented “homeowner” (he was a renter, but never mind).
What do you think your town’s police will do when the supporters of the “One-Day Dictator” go berserk against you? Do you think they will stop them, or even investigate? Do you think you will be treated fairly and equally by the Border Patrol and the IRS?
Better, that we should keep these fools out of power.
